Jakob Von Plessen: Tales of the Wild
“When we are high up in the mountains on horse back, it doesn’t matter how difficult the conditions are- you can have howling winds- I still feel this constant contemptness about everything.... not needing to be anywhere else. And this gives you an incredible peace about life.”
-Jakob Von Plessen.
Jakob grew up with horses, and developed his riding skills whilst tracking lions in Kenya. He lives on a vast 12000 hectare property bordering the Nahuel Huapi and Lenin national parks in Patagonia. With the aim to bring the African Safari experience to the wilderness of Argentine, Jakob leads adventurous horse rides through the pristine Lake District of Argentine. These extreme trails take you over snow capped mountains and across topaz rivers.
With local Criollo horses and sheep skins lain over Argentinian saddles, riders can expect a comfortable and enjoyable ride. The 7 night trail begins at a luxurious base camp, with an intrinsically Argentine gaucho style. Thereafter, the riders carry their own tents to set up rustic ‘fly camps’ in the mountains.
‘Tales of the Wild’ is a riveting film that captures the wild, gaucho essence of Jakob’s incredible lifestyle. Below is a tasteful short clip of the film.
